Topic: Psychiatry 

Following the presentation, participants will: 

  1. Have a clearer understanding of indications for managing common psychiatric conditions within the primary care setting, emphasizing when referrals to Psychiatry are necessary. 
  2. Be able to identify key information points for inclusion in Psychiatry referral letters, focusing on critical details that facilitate comprehensive care and efficient consultant review. 
  3. Have an increased awareness of practical approaches for the initial management of psychiatric conditions in the primary care setting, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to support patients while awaiting specialized consultation. 
  4. Be able to identify processes for urgency and triage in psychiatric referrals, and strategies for providing ongoing patient support and care coordination during the wait for a referral. 

Topic: Internal Medicine (Steatotic Liver Disease) 

Following the presentation, participants will: 

  1. Be able to recognize Steatotic liver disease prevalence and risks. 
  1. Have a clearer understanding of the available liver disease therapies for Steatotic liver disease. 
  1. Be able to recognize the role of primary care in the management of Steatotic liver disease.
