Dr. Ellaway is the Meredith Marks Mentorship 2021 winner. Her award presentation and her lecture takes place on 5th floor Faculty of Medicine--Room M5M101. Time 9am to 11am. Online attendance also available.

Everyone talks about change in medical education but actually bringing change about can be challenging. In this presentation, Dr. Ellaway will draw on her decades of experience as a medical educator and researcher to outline the many bounded rationalities of medical education and the need to negotiate and compromise in order to effect meaningful change.

Objectives: By the end of this session participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the challenges and barriers to effecting change in medical education.
  2. Understand concepts such as bounded rationality and social economics in the context of medical education.
  3. Better able to engage in effecting and managing change in medical education.
