The Borealis Family Practice Network (FPN) provides the family physicians with structure and supports to address physician and practice issues in our local area. Through  consultations with family physicians in Labrador and Northern Newfoundland, the FPN has identified several priorities, including:

• Improved engagement with the Provincial Health Authority, consultant and allied health team services through the creation of formal structures with shared decision-making.
• Addressing recruitment and retention needs for rural community generalist physicians through partnership with our stakeholders using a localized approach.
• Advocating for better and more timely patient access to consultants and specialty services through the enhancement of shared care opportunities and raising the patient voice to highlight gaps in healthcare access.
