FPRP Fund to Support the Purchase of Medical Equipment

The Family Practice Renewal Program has established the Family Practice Network (FPN) Equipment Fund, to support family physicians in purchasing medical equipment, enabling them to practice to the full scope and perform minor office-based procedures.

Through the FPN Equipment Fund, eligible family physicians (i.e., fee-for-service physicians who are FPN members and are responsible for the purchase of their own medical equipment) will be reimbursed for 80% of the costs they incur for the purchase of new or refurbished equipment and/or devices on a pre-approved list, up to a maximum of $2,500 per physician.

A list of pre-approved products/devices can be found here.

For pre-approved items, family physicians may submit a request for reimbursement based upon confirmation of purchase (i.e., receipt and invoice).

For items not on the pre-approved list, physicians will be required to complete an application for the funding request.

Please click here to access the online form for both the pre-approved items and the application for funding request.

Please note that disposable items associated with the performance of minor procedures do not qualify for funding.

The Equipment Fund is available immediately for reimbursement of purchases made on or after March 15, 2020, and will extend to November 30, 2023.
